Meet Platinum: Loc Nguyen

By Platinum Team | Meet Platinum | April 16, 2018

This post is part of a series to help you get to know the members of our team. We’re real people who call Arizona home, not a big corporate machine! Head here for more Q&A’s with the Platinum team.

When your heating and cooling system starts to fritz or needs a checkup, you want to be able to rest assured it’s in good hands. You want the guy that shows up at your door to be trustworthy — someone you feel safe letting into your home.

That’s precisely why we employ our own technicians. We’re proud of the guys we have on our team, and we want to make sure you have a chance to get to know them too.

Tell us a bit about your personal background and family.

I grew up in Vietnam and came to the U.S when I was 10 years old. I have a wonderful 4-year-old boy who loves outdoor activities and running. This will be my 13th summer here in Arizona.

What has your career been like? / How did you get started with Platinum?

I started out as a helper, then become an installer and then an HVAC tech. Even though it’s a lot of hard work and sweat, it’s a lot of fun and rewarding as well. I’m blessed to have known other senior techs who have shown me the tricks of the trade during my career. It has been a great career for me so far, and I love it.

My older brother used to work for Platinum until he decided to pursue a different career. So, I took over his position and have been here for the last five years. I remember there were just a handful of us at Platinum when I started, and now I get to see how the company has grown so much with so many new members each year.

What are your hobbies?

I enjoy playing volleyball with a group of my friends during the weekend. I love going to the park and going fishing with my boy whenever possible.

What have you learned that you would love to share?

I have learned that patience is one of the most important aspects in this field of work, especially during the hot summer. A little patience can go along way for our clients. Those extra minutes can really make someone’s day that much better.

What does “home” mean to you?

Home is a place where you can truly be yourself. A place where memories are created, a place where you can count all of your blessings, a place where you can just simply be… you.
